he says, i can see it in your eyes, i can see it in your smile. you are in such a different state of mind, and i think you're really going to enjoy everything coming up in your life.

i am going to new york in four days! oh, i am so excited. nyc state of mind. adventuring! staying with camilinda and broadway and seeing ganj and aaaaah just being in the city and going on vacation! five whole days.

some things i want to remember:

luly taking me out to lunch. "you are never going to have a class like this job, you have learned so much. everything was so crazy when you came, john and i didn't have time to really sit down with you and go over everything, we knew you were smart and we could give you whatever and you would handle it. and i am so proud of you. you are going to do amazing things in your career." going to the courthouse, that amazing feeling. stepping off the elevator, jury pools & courts in session & me being mistake for a real lawyer in my power suit & pearls. and how excited seeing something like 'psychology of persuasion' and how you can apply psychology to jury selection & pools & opening arguments & just how exciiiiiting and interesting it is to me.

the feeling of being surprised so fully & completely. and how much that made me wonder and question and smile.

seeing the al gore documentary & getting excited about my environmental science class group taught by five laywers. realizing how little we are and how fucked up we are making the earth and just walking down a parking lot at night thinking about things so much bigger that you and me.

teaching him how to smoke, latenight on the backporch talking about space & the moon.

white water rafting down the olympic whitewater course on the ocoee river in the blue ridge mountains. that bus ride over, talking to uncle john about our family. hearing stories about the family cottage on green lake. summertime and jetskiing and family. family.

alvaro getting married in panama in september! oooh.

lourdes telling me how much everyone at the office loves me, and "but i'm sure you've heard that already."

the trust i feel that i am trusted to handle cases and i just love it! i just love it.
