she smiled like crazy and his voice didn't waiver and the little ones stole the show. the boy who swings on the rope swing in my front yard and lets me push him and smiles like the sun, who i will pick up later tonight with his little brother after they dance themselves to sleep. all dolled up voices ringing with money, gold and pearls. early morning being checked out in my pajamas while we set up the tables and chairs. bagels and wind and earth in my car, photographs and hugs and being told i broke his heart. gracious smiles grace the room. today is flawless.
