on a summer day

cultivate an interest now so when you're old you'll have things to do that you like, that you love. oh but you've always had things - you love to write, and read, and hike, and swim - you could swim forever, not even as a workout but just to enjoy it.

sometimes, often, my mother says a throwaway comment and it surprises me with how right she is and how well she knows me - or how much i *haven't* changed after all these years.

other life notes to memorialize:

vacation is glorious.
zumba keeps me smiling.
west wing is the greatest and i'm in love.
a long bike ride after not having been on one for a year+ is hilarious and great.
exploring new restaurants with my bff never gets old.
saw ingrid this weekend - she was unreal.
i danced the entire time.
unpacking took some years off my life.
getting settled into this new house is nice.
hang up your art!
memorial day weekend was the best - ingrid, bike riding, arguing + getting over it, staying in bed, baked brie and big long lunch on monday, playing yahtzee, laughing so hard.

i feel good today - productive - and excited about things to come. sleeping well makes such a difference. off to make some calls and see what sam seaborn and toby have up their sleeves. roasted tomatoes with pesto and goat cheese and basil stuffed chicken on tonight's menu.
